The spot is usually empty, but if it gets crowded, respect the locals and check the surf etiquette. Always check your skills before paddling out, be sure that the spot and conditions fit your surfing level. The surf at Sunset Waya does not break all the time, so check the surf forecast and surf report before heading out. There are no webcams at the spot, so use a surf map or online forecast to plan your session. Nearby surf spots include Desperations, Wilkes Passage, Namotu Lefts, Canoes, and Swimming Pools. Remember to be careful with the rocks and reef, and always respect the local surfers and the environment.
