The spot is best surfed at medium to high tide and is known for being very consistent. Tradewinds can affect the conditions, so most surfing is done in the early morning. There are rips and undertow, and rocks are present, so be aware of the hazards. The spot is suitable for all levels, but it is important to check your skills before paddling out, be sure that the spot matches your level. The spot can handle waves up to 10 feet, and the depth of the reef helps reduce some risks compared to shallower breaks.
