About this Spot

You can paddle out from the beach to the reef, with the paddle distance being around 200 to 250 meters. The surf spot provides right waves. The bottom is coral reef, and the wave is short, with rides usually less than 50 meters. The wave is best surfed at high tide and works well in waves up to 1.2 meters (4 feet). When the swell is bigger, the wave gets more challenging and shallow, so it is important to check your skills before paddling out, be sure that the spot and conditions fit your surfing level. The spot is considered suitable for intermediate surfers. The wave is consistent and can be surfed on a longboard, bodyboard, or shortboard. The area is usually uncrowded, but always respect the locals, especially when the spot is busy, and check the surf etiquette when the spot is crowded. The main hazards are the shallow reef and rocks, so take care when surfing and exiting the water. The Beachouse Resort nearby offers surf lessons, board rentals, and a relaxed place to stay. There is a local surfer who sometimes organizes trips to other nearby surf spots like Pipes, Serua Rights, Frigates Passage, Hideaway, and Sigatoka Rivermouth.
