Playa los Cedros is a surf spot located in Guanacaste, Costa Rica, just south of Montezuma along the road to Cabuya. The spot features a rocky bottom, is best surfed at high tide, and provides left waves. The wave length ranges from 50 to 150 meters, and the frequency is regular, with only a few surfers in the water most of the time. The spot is suitable for all levels, but it is important to check your skills before paddling out, be sure that the spot and conditions fit your surfing level. Boards like shortboards, mid and retro boards, and longboards are all used here. The best surf forecast for Playa los Cedros is with a south or southeast swell, a minimum swell height of 3 feet, and wind coming from the west, northwest, or north. The beach is accessible by driving about 0.9 miles south from Montezuma, and a tall banyan tree marks the parking area. At low tide, the beach is rocky, while at high tide, a sandy stretch appears. The area is known for its natural setting, with shoals of fish and seabirds like pelicans and frigate birds. There is an annual surf competition in July. The spot is close to other surf locations like Mar Azul, Playa Carmen, Sunset Reef, Santa Teresa, and Playa Coyote.
