Praia de Almograve is a surf spot located in Alentejo, Portugal. This beach provides both left and right waves and even if it’s called “praia” features a bottom composed of rocks and sand. The spot is suitable for surfers of all levels, with a waves ranging from 50 to 150 meters in length. The surf spot is accessible with an easy ten-minute walk from the city center, and the beach is moderately crowded during the summer months of July and August. The northern part of the beach is considered the best for surfing. Various types of surfboards, including shortboards, mid and retro boards, and longboards, can be used here. Nearby surf spots include Praia do Farol, Vila Nova de Milfontes, Canal das Barcas, Malhão, and Zambujeira do Mar. Check your skills before paddling out to ensure the spot and conditions match your level. Keep in mind that the bottom is uneven and rocky. Respect the locals and adhere to surf etiquette.
