Breakers is a surf spot located in Durban, South Africa, specifically in the Umhlanga Rocks area just north of the city. The spot is close to the Breakers Resort at 88 Lagoon Drive, which gives surfers easy access to the beach, about 50 meters away. The surf spot features a bottom made up of both sand and rocks, so be aware of your footing when entering and exiting the water. Breakers works on all tides and is known for being very consistent, with waves breaking less than 50 meters in length. The spot is generally empty, but always respect the locals and check the surf etiquette, especially if the spot gets crowded. The surf spot provides both left and right waves. Water temperatures are warm year-round, usually between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius, thanks to the Mozambique Current, so you can surf comfortably without a heavy wetsuit. For parking, you can tell the security guard at the hotel that you are visiting someone and use their parking lot, then walk through the hotel to access the beach.
