Peanuts Farm

Peanuts Farm is a surf spot located in Southeast, Sri Lanka, southeast of Arugam Bay. The spot is reached by following a dirt road past the turn for Elephant Rock, then taking a track to a T-junction with a Navy camp on the right and the surf spot on the left. Access can be challenging, with a long walk through trails or by hiring a tuk-tuk or using a 4WD vehicle. The area features two main surf points: a beach break suitable for beginners and a point break for more experienced surfers. The beach break is accessed by crossing abandoned huts, while the point break requires walking along the beach and navigating rocks near a Navy hut. The bottom is a mix of sand and rocks, and the spot works on all tides. The wave length ranges from 50 to 150 meters, and the frequency of surfable waves is regular. The spot is considered a regional classic and is suitable for all levels, but it is important to check your skills before paddling out, be sure that the spot and conditions match your level. The best time for surfing is from May to August, with waves from waist-high to overhead. The water can be dirty at times, and the walk to the spot can be tough, but the area is less crowded, offering more solitude. Nearby surf spots include Panama, Elephant Rock, Arugam Bay, Arugam Beach, and Pottuvil Point. There is a restaurant open during the surf season serving Sri Lankan food and Western breakfasts.
