About this Spot

Jacking Horse is a surf spot located in Visayas, Philippines, near Cloud 9 in Siargao. The spot features a coral reef and sand bottom, with waves that are mostly right but sometimes offer a small left at the point. The surf break is best at low and medium tide, and the wave length ranges from 50 to 150 meters. Swell direction from the east to northeast and winds from the southwest create the best surfing conditions. The spot is suitable for all levels, but strong currents and rips can occur, especially around high tide, so always check your skills before paddling out to make sure the spot and conditions fit your surfing level. The surf here is regular, and the crowd is usually light, but it can get busier when Cloud 9 is crowded. Most days, local instructors are present, teaching tourists on the inside sections, so paddle past them if you want to reach the main break. The paddle out is more than 20 minutes, or you can use a boat. Access is by walking along the beach past the pier until you reach the point, with a small mangrove island on your right and the beach turning westward. The spot provides both left and right waves. Always respect the locals, especially when the spot is crowded, and check the surf etiquette. The area is close to other surf spots like Rock Island, Stimpy’s, Cemeteries, and Daku Island. For the latest surf forecast, report, map, and webcam updates, check local resources before heading out. Jacking Horse is a regional classic surf spot, and it’s important to be aware of the conditions and your own abilities before entering the water.
