About this Spot

Forks is a surf spot located in Queensland, Australia. This spot provides both left and right waves. The bottom consists of sand and rocks, and it can be surfed at all tides. Forks is considered a regional classic, making it suitable for surfers of all levels. The waves here are very consistent, with a length of less than 50 meters. The spot is typically empty, providing a more relaxed surfing experience. Nearby surf spots include Nothings, Currumbin Alley, Tugun, Palm Beach, and The Reef Palm Beach. To reach Forks, drive to the alley in Currumbin and continue down Pacific Parade until you come to a big rock with a restaurant to the left. You can park in the restaurant car parks and surf on either side of the rock. The waves at Forks are not very powerful, but when the banks shape up, they can become quite powerful. There are rips and undertow to be aware of, and rocks are present, but they are easy to find. You can climb up the rock next to the restaurant to check the waves from the alley to Tugun. It’s important to check the surf etiquette when the spot is crowded and to check your skills before paddling out to make sure the spot and conditions fit your surfing level. Respect the locals.
