Overview
About this Spot
Vazon Centres is a surf spot located in Channel Islands, United Kingdom. This spot features two distinct waves that are surfable primarily during a good-sized swell on a spring high tide. The first wave breaks over an outside reef, creating a hollow peak that can produce good longish right-hand waves and a respectable left on its best days. After this peak, the waves reform over an inside sandbank, producing short, fast, and very hollow right-breaking waves that extend towards the beach. However, it is important to note that the conditions can become messy when the swell is large. The surf spot is known for its small take-off area, and it is often crowded, making it a competitive environment for surfers. Vazon Centres is considered one of Guernsey’s best waves, but the high number of surfers can lead to a stressful experience. The surf spot is characterized by an a-frame wave direction and has a bottom composition of sand and rocks. It is best surfed at high tide and is suitable for surfers of all experience levels, although the crowded conditions can be challenging. The wave length is generally less than 50 meters, and the frequency of breaks can vary, with the waves sometimes being inconsistent. The car park located next to Richmond Kiosk provides direct access and overlooks the break, making it convenient for surfers. It is advisable to check surf etiquette when surfing crowded spots and to assess your skill level against the difficulty of the waves before entering the water. Nearby surf spots include T’Others, Vazon Reef, Vazon Beach, Perelle Left, and Perelle Right. When planning a visit, it is essential to check the surf forecast, report, and map for the best conditions. Additionally, a webcam may provide real-time information about the surf conditions. Respect the locals.
