About this Spot

Vesique is a surf spot located in Central Peru, Peru, near the city of Chimbote in the Áncash region. The spot is also known as Playa Vesique or Playa Besique. To get there, head northbound from Lima, take a left before the toll just before arriving in Chimbote, follow the road under the tunnel, and you will reach a sand beach. The surf point is at the south end of the beach, and you can park nearby and walk straight to the spot. The bottom at Vesique is a mix of sand and rocks. The spot works best at low and medium tide. The surf spot provides both left and right waves. There is a left point break and a shorebreak that goes both left and right. The length of the ride is usually less than 50 meters. The spot is offshore all year, but the waves break only sometimes, so it is important to check the surf forecast and surf report before heading out. The spot is suitable for all levels, but always check your skills before paddling out, be sure that the spot and conditions fit your surfing level. The crowd is usually low, but when it gets busy, respect the locals and always follow surf etiquette. The area around Playa Vesique is known for its clean waters and is popular for fishing, swimming, and bodyboarding, especially during the summer months from January to March. There are restaurants and accommodations nearby, and the beach is accessible by car or combi from Chimbote. For more details, you can look up the spot on a surf map or check a webcam if available. Always check the latest surf forecast and report before planning your session.
