Praia da Resende is a surf spot located in Bahia, Brazil, in the city of Itacaré. The beach is about 1.3 kilometers from the town center and can be reached by taking the street called Caminho das Praias, which is lined with restaurants, hostels, and backpacker accommodations. Parking is allowed on this street, and from there it’s a five-minute walk to the beach. Praia da Resende has a sandy bottom and is suitable for all levels of surfers. The spot is known for its very consistent surf conditions. The surf spot provides both left and right waves. The waves at Praia da Resende change with the tides, with smaller, manageable waves that are good for beginners, but always check the surf forecast and report before heading out. During low tide, natural pools form in the right corner of the beach. There is minimal infrastructure at the beach, with just a few small kiosks offering simple meals and cold drinks. You can rent beach chairs and umbrellas from these kiosks, or just use a towel on the sand. The beach is part of a trail called Caminho das Praias, which connects Praia da Resende to other nearby surf spots like Praia da Tiririca, Boca da Barra, Prainha, Pontal, and Jeribucaçu. There is no webcam at the spot, so checking the surf report and map before you go is recommended. Respect the locals, especially when the spot is crowded, and always follow surf etiquette.
