A short five-minute walk leads to a trail where surfers need to climb down a tree to reach the beach. The paddle out to the lineup is relatively short, assisted by the current even during larger swells. Waikokos can handle swells ranging from 3 to 16 feet and larger, with winter months being particularly favorable due to north swells.
