Avenida del Mar

Avenida del Mar is a surf spot located in Central, Chile, in the city of La Serena. The spot stretches along a coastal avenue that runs for about 6 kilometers from the El Faro Monumental to the border with Coquimbo. The area includes several beaches such as El Faro, Los Fuertes, Mansa, Blanca, La Barca, Cuatro Esquinas, La Marina, El Pescador, El Corsario, Hipocampo, Las Gaviotas, and Canto del Agua. The surf spot provides both left and right waves. The bottom is sandy, and the waves break over sandbars, making it accessible for all levels of surfers. The wave length ranges from 50 to 150 meters. Swell consistency is regular, and the spot can handle a variety of conditions, with the north end often managing bigger swells. The best surf conditions usually happen with eastward swells.
