About this Spot

Watermans is a surf spot located in the Perth Area of Australia. This spot is known for providing both left and right waves, making it a versatile location for surfers. The bottom consists of sand and rocks, and it is surfable at all tides. The wave quality is considered normal, and it is suitable for beginners. The waves here are generally less than 50 meters in length. Watermans is known to be ultra crowded, especially after school on weekdays, during weekends, and on holidays. The best right breaks are to the right of the beach, where a shallow reef can suck dry on a big swell at low tide. Good lefts can be found to the left of the beach. The spot is conveniently located between Trigg and Hillarys, just south of the MAAC and opposite the Ocean Dragon and Wilf Fig Cafe restaurants. You can access the beach by going down the stairs near the observation area or the wooden stairs. Parking is available in spots next to the beach. Watermans is one of the few places in the area that doesn’t get ruined by onshore winds, and it can offer good rides, especially when the conditions are right. Nearby surf spots include 2nds, North Beach, 3rd Groyne, Mettams Pool, and Sorrento Hungries. When surfing at Watermans, it’s important to check the surf etiquette due to the crowded conditions. Always check your skills before paddling out to ensure the spot and conditions match your surfing level. Respect the locals.
