La Pampilla

La Pampilla is a surf spot located in Lima, Peru, in the Miraflores District along the Costa Verde beach circuit. The beach is about 350 meters long and covered with small round pebbles, with no sand, and is mainly used for surfing. The bottom is rocky, and the spot works at all tides. The surf spot provides right waves. The wave length is usually less than 50 meters. La Pampilla is known for being very consistent, making it a reliable place to check the surf forecast and report. The spot is suitable for all levels, but always check your skills before paddling out, be sure that the spot and conditions fit your surfing level. The beach is usually empty except for surfers, and there is a small kiosko where you can leave your stuff and buy wax or food. Parking is available right at the side of the road next to the sea, but you need to park close to the edge to avoid your car being hit by passing vehicles. The spot is easy to find by heading down to La Costa Verde, passing La Rosa Nautica, and looking for the sign that says ‘Pampilla at the right.’ Nearby surf spots include Las Orishas, Punta Roquitas, Waikiki, Makaha, and Redondo. Since 2017, the beach has been equipped with lights for night surfing. Pollution from solid waste and drainage is an issue, so be aware of the water quality.
