Amoreira

Amoreira is a surf spot located in Algarve, Portugal. This beach break is situated near Aljezur, and you can follow the signs to “Praia da Amoreira” to reach it. The spot is characterized by its rivermouth break, offering both left and right waves depending on how the sandbanks are formed. The waves are best at low and medium tides, with a regional classic quality that attracts intermediate and advanced surfers. The spot is known for its sand bottom and can accommodate various types of surfboards, including shortboards, mid and retro boards, and longboards. Amoreira is exposed to the wind and receives a lot of swell, especially from the southwest. The waves start breaking from just under 2 feet, but caution is advised when the swell exceeds 3-4 feet, as the spot can become quite rippy.
