Red Island

Red Island is a surf spot located in Java, Indonesia. The spot, also known as Pulau Merah, is situated in Sumberagung Village, Pesanggaran District, Banyuwangi, East Java. It’s about 60 kilometers south of Banyuwangi city center, accessible by car in approximately two and a half hours. The surf spot provides both left and right waves. Red Island has a bottom composed of sand and rocks, making it suitable for beginners. The waves here have a regular frequency and can reach lengths between 50 to 150 meters. Nearby surf spots include Grajagan, Tiger Tracks, Tiger Tracks Lefts, 20 20s, and Payangan. The beach gets its name from a small, 200-meter-high hill with reddish soil near the shoreline, which becomes accessible on foot during low tide.
