The beach is often empty, providing a peaceful surfing experience. Nearby surf spots include Baird Bay Reef, Blackfellows, Sceale Bay, Granites, and Sheringa Left. The beach can experience massive swells from the Bass Strait, and it’s best surfed when the swell is between 0.5m and 1.5m. Larger swells can be challenging, especially for inexperienced surfers.
