Overview
About this Spot
Bay Left Wall is a surf spot located in South West Australia, Australia. This surf spot is known for its left-breaking waves and sandy bottom, making it accessible for surfers of all levels. The wave direction is left, and it can be surfed at all tides. The wave quality is considered normal, and the wave length is typically less than 50 meters. The spot is not heavily crowded, with only a few surfers usually present. Bay Left Wall is part of a bay that features three breaks: Left Wall, which works only in winter; Scraps, the middle break, which can have its moments but is not the greatest; and Right Wall, which works on some winter days but mainly during big summer days. Both Left and Right Walls offer good sidewash on bigger days, creating a wedge effect. The locals are generally friendly if you follow surf etiquette, such as calling your wave to avoid being dropped in on. It’s important to park your car away from where trucks will be coming in to avoid any issues with the company that owns the land. The spot is somewhat private, and accessing it may require climbing rocks or going under a fence. While Bay Left Wall is not as renowned as spots further south like Margaret River, it can still provide a satisfying session. There are other surf spots around Bunbury, but during the summer season, it’s advisable to head further south for more consistent waves. Always check your skills before paddling out to ensure the conditions match your surfing level. Respect the locals and remember to follow surf etiquette when surfing crowded spots.
