Ogunquit Beach is a surf spot located in Maine, in the US. The spot features a sandy bottom and is known for its exposed beach break that works on swells from the south, southeast, and east. The surf spot provides both left and right waves. The best surf breaks are found close to the rivermouth, and there is also a hidden spot that breaks at low tide just south of the river. Ogunquit Beach is suitable for all levels of surfers, including beginners, and you can use beginner boards like mini-malibus, softboards, shortboards, mid and retro boards, and longboards here. The spot works on all tides and the wave length ranges from 50 to 150 meters. The frequency of surfable waves is regular, and the minimum swell height for a good session is 2 feet. The best wind direction for surfing is from the west and northwest. The best time to surf is late summer and early fall, especially when hurricanes are active in the Atlantic, but the water is very cold, so wearing a wetsuit, gloves, and boots is recommended.
