Overview
About this Spot
Lighthouse Beach is a surf spot located in New South Wales, Australia. Known for its generally average beach breaks, Lighthouse Beach often picks up more swell than nearby Seal Rocks. The south end of the beach is usually the best spot, sometimes offering a good peak off the rocks, with waves ranging from 2 to 6 feet. This area benefits from southwest wind protection. On the north end, you might find some decent lefts when the northeast wind is offshore. The beach is relatively isolated and serene, making it a peaceful spot for surfing. The beach features a sandy bottom and provides both left and right waves. It is suitable for surfers of all levels, with waves typically less than 50 meters in length. The surf spot is usually empty, offering a quiet surfing experience. However, Treachery, a beach further down, is often better but more crowded. Lighthouse Beach is the back beach at Seal Rocks, located below the Lighthouse. You can reach it by walking from the end of the road at the lighthouse or from the southern end via a dodgy track. Both ends of the beach have okay peaks, depending on the sand alignment. It’s important to check the surf forecast, report, map, and webcam before heading out to ensure favorable conditions. Remember to respect the locals and check the surf etiquette when surfing crowded spots. Always check your skills before paddling out to make sure the spot and conditions fit your surfing level.
