Overview
About this Spot
Cap Sim is a surf spot located in Central Morocco, Morocco. It is known for its right-point break that can offer excellent barreling sections when the conditions align. The waves at Cap Sim can be challenging to surf and can break for up to 200 meters over a sand bottom. The spot is characterized by a coral reef bottom and is best surfed at high tide. It is considered a regional classic and is suitable for intermediate surfers. The surf spot rarely breaks, and when it does, it is less crowded with only a few surfers. Nearby surf spots include Sidi Kaouki, Essaouira, Tafadna, La Cathedrale, and Imsouane. Accessing Cap Sim can be a bit challenging, requiring a long walk or a drive with a high-clearance vehicle or 4×4. To reach the spot, head towards Sidi Kaouki, and before the tarmac track bends left, take the right and follow a rough track through sand until you reach a small village. From there, walk towards the cape and ask locals for directions if needed. It’s important to respect the locals and be aware of localism, as it is not uncommon here. Additionally, surfers should be cautious of thievery in the area. When surfing crowded spots, always check the surf etiquette, and make sure to assess your skills before paddling out to ensure the spot matches your level. Respect the locals.
