Overview
About this Spot
Jupiter Inlet is a surf spot located in Atlantic Coast, Florida. The spot provides both left and right waves. It’s characterized by two parallel sandbars between Jupiter Inlet and Juno Beach Pier, creating favorable conditions when substantial swell is present. The south side of the inlet is known for strong right-breaking waves. The main peak is positioned outside, between the jetty and the lifeguard tower. Surfers typically paddle out along the jetty but should be cautious of strong currents. It’s advisable to catch a wave quickly, walk back up the beach, and paddle out again to avoid being swept away by the outgoing tide. Surf conditions are generally best during low to medium tides, with optimal swell direction being north-northeast to northeast and winds from west-northwest. The spot has a rocky and sandy bottom, and is suitable for intermediate surfers. It’s a regular surf spot with waves less than 50m in length. Jupiter Inlet is considered a regional classic in terms of quality. Nearby spots include Juno Pier, Pump House, Reef Road, Stumps, and Stuart Rocks. The spot can get crowded, especially on weekends, so it’s important to respect locals and follow surf etiquette. Be aware of potential hazards such as rocks, strong currents, and sharks. Check your skills before paddling out to ensure the spot and conditions match your surfing level. Parking is available along A1A, providing convenient beach access. Food, gas, and other stores are located within a mile of the spot. Parking is easier in winter but may be challenging during good beach days in fall and spring. The water quality is generally clean, though occasional mixing with lagoon water can occur. For the most up-to-date information, check the surf forecast, report, and webcam before your visit.
